Digital & Social Media Boot Camp

Digital and Social Media are rapidly becoming an important platforms for communication. Being effective on the World Wide Web and via mobile waves presents quite a challenge. 9.9 School of Communication presents its Digital and Social Media Boot Camp – an intense three days update and unravel the intricacies of digital and social media. It is aimed at getting entrepreneurs, agency, corporate communication heads and client-marketing professionals to get a low down on all things digital in three days.

The Boot Camp is a combination of lectures and group discussions, covering the whole gamut of digital media, and is taught by the best brains on the subject: digital media professionals. A networking cocktail party and participant dinner provide additional time for discussion, debate and an opportunity to connect with marketing professionals from different spheres.

At the end of the program, participants will understand the basics and the jargon used in the digital world. With that knowledge, they can easily determine what will and will not work for their company in the digital world.

What are the Topics Covered?

Day 1 will focus on the “what” of digital marketing.

  • What is it?
  • What trends have developed over the last decade?
  • What do “mobile” and “social media” really mean?

Day 2 is all about the “how” of digital marketing:

  • How is creativity defined within digital agencies?
  • How do these teams function?
  • How do they deliver great work?

Day 3 will concentrated on the future of digital marketing, reflecting emerging technologies already shaping our environment, and the digital marketing landscape.

 

Who Should Attend?

If you’ve ever wondered what digital professionals do, are contemplating a career shift, struggling to manage a digital project with your agency, or want to know about digital but don’t know how to get started, this program is for you. It has been designed for professionals who have at least 5 years of working experience at advertising agencies, design firms, or belong to client-marketing brand teams. Other professionals interested in the workings of digital and social media are also welcome.

The Digital and Social Media Boot Camp introduces participants to its workings with a look at trends today. It is appropriate for creative, strategic, production and client service staff.

International participants are welcome and encouraged.
 

When And Where?

The next Social Media weekend is June 24-26th, 2011.

The workshop is hosted at 9.9 School of Communication. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided each day. Day 1 ends with a networking dinner.
 

What are the Fees?

Rs 70,000 per person (including food & materials)
Rs 50,000 per person for groups of two or more

Registration is final. There is a Rs 20,000 cancellation fee, but you may transfer your registration to another guest free of charge.

DAY 1

Two lectures and two discussion groups followed by cocktails and dinner.

The Digital Landscape :

A look at the fundamental trends shaping the digital marketing environment, past and present. What exactly it entails and how to get the best out of it, targeting specific demographic groups.

More Digital Landscape :

Mobile & Social Media – A more specific look at the trends and technologies shaping mobile and social media. Topics range from SMS based campaigns to sophisticated smart phone apps, the do’s and don’ts of social media that go beyond Twitter.
 

DAY 2 & 3

DAY 2 is be structured into two lectures and two discussion groups. The evening is free for independent socializing and/or sightseeing.

DAY 3 ends with one lecture and lunch.
 

A brief preview of the Boot Camp :

  • It will redefine creativity. Participants will understand the different creative roles that exist within a digital agency, and how they work together to generate great work.
  • Even creativity needs the planning process from brief to launch. The Boot Camp will give participants a clear idea of what creating and delivering great digital work to market entails.
The future of ever changing technology is an exciting labyrinth. This Boot Camp will open your eyes and mind to its myriad possibilities and the challenges it unlocks for creative expression and marketing communication
